Job Description

Are you looking for a dynamic role? Pacific Energy is growing fast so we require an experienced Estimator who will support the commercial team in their tender bids for upcoming projects within the Hydrogen sector. 


This role will support the PEC Commercial Team for proposal and tender submissions and responsible for estimating project costs, tender tracking and risk profiling of hydrogen solutions. This role will also manage project handover to engineering and delivery teams and be responsible for coordinate presentations, document writing, reporting and document control.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities will include: 

  • Manage the commercial and technical inputs for solutions design with the intent of estimating their costs as part of the overall commercial project delivery
  • Attend tender, EOI and BAFO briefings  
  • Assist with high-quality responses to business opportunities
  • Interface with inter-related company commercial teams 
  • Energy modelling and analysis as well as price estimating 
  • Track submission dates and undertaking submissions   
  • Conceptual / High-level Project / Opportunity Budgeting  
  • Commercial and financial document creation, development, and review  
  • Manage Post Implementation Reviews (PIR) for each project to identify opportunities for cost and process improvement

About you: 

  • High evidence of commercial literacy, the contracting labour market and aptitude for learning technical solution design for the purposes of estimating projects
  • High knowledge of Microsoft software packages, particularly excel, with knowledge and experience of analysis using functions, such as IRR, NPV, date, time and logical decisions.
  • Ability to present project specific commercial modelling with the intent of seeking executive endorsement to proceed to a tender/proposal submission
  • Ability to identify opportunities to deliver more competitive, cost-effective pricing models
  • Electrical Engineer certification or Electrical Trade certification desirable
  • Knowledge of green hydrogen/CNG fuel solutions preferred
  • Ability to source information and consolidate this information into business proposals for presentations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, to listen and learn, participate, and question where required.
  • Ability to be flexible in approach to work and able to change direction at short notice to assist others and meet deadlines.
  • Be confident to communicate with other team members and clients when required.
