Job Description

The Role

As a Plant Operator, you are an individual who operates plant and equipment, to support the project delivery team in the construction of thermal energy power generation assets. Typical plant operation includes mini excavators, skid steers, Hiab cranes, HR trucks, telehandlers, and forklifts.

This role is not solely an operator’s role, and you will support the small team with a variety of onsite tasks and activities.

This is a 2:1 construction roster, with the point of hire as Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operation, maintenance, repair, reporting and record keeping of plant and equipment
  • Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Maintaining a tidy workplace
  • Packing vehicles and toolboxes
  • Supporting the team with daily tasks as required
  • Responsible for compliance with HSE polices, ensuring workplace compliance, and reporting hazards and near misses
  • Foster a workplace culture of excellence, innovation, honesty and teamwork

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • C class drivers’ licence (HR preferred)
  • Forklift licence (preferred, not essential)  
  • Telehandler with CN endorsement
  • Skid steer ticket
  • Mini Excavator ticket
  • Construction Industry Card
  • Assorted mobile equipment licences/tickets/competencies.
  • General experience in mechanical assembly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, conflict resolution abilities and confidence dealing with a wide range of people, from tradespeople to customers/stakeholders and supervisors
  • Understanding of HSE requirements
