Job Description

The Role

As a Rigger you are responsible for setting up and operating rigging equipment to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment whilst in the construction phase of projects. You will work closely with other construction team members to ensure the safe and efficient completion of lifting operations. This is a mixed roll with a lot of variety, and you will assist other team members in all works being undertaken on site, not just rigging.

2:1 Construction roster, with the point of hire as Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and operate rigging equipment, including cranes, hoists and pulleys
  • Perform regular inspections on rigging equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose and in a safe working condition
  • Report and register any defective equipment
  • Calculate load weights to determine the appropriate rigging equipment and methods.
  • Signal or verbally direct team engaged in lifting or moving tasks to ensure safety.
  • Correctly dismantle and stores equipment after use.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as an Intermediate Rigger or better 
  • Strong understanding of rigging techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in rigging activities, preferably in a construction role
  • Hands on construction experience in T/A or All Rounder type role
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint, schematics and load charts
  • Excellent signalling, oral and written communication skills.
