Job Description

The Role

The Power Station Operator is responsible for day-to-day monitoring, operating, maintenance, and repair of power generation equipment at various customer sites.

This is a roaming role to support operator coverage, moving between various sites across the Pacific Energy fleet as required. 

This is a 15:13 roster, with point of hire Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures and promote a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Repair and maintain power generation equipment at customer sites, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and equipment is fully operational.
  • Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance of power generation equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnosing faults as they arise.
  • Respond to emergency repair calls and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal downtime for the customer.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labour hours, and expenses, and provide detailed reports to the Power Station Manager.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service and communicating effectively with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • Relevant Trade certification.
  • HV switching highly desirable
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience working with power generation equipment.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety.
