Job Description
The Role
Pacific Energy is centralising its HSE Functions and a part of this re-structure we have created this position Principal Advisor – Risk. The successful candidates will play an integral part to our risk management initiatives and successes.
This full-time, permanent role offers the flexibility of a 9-day fortnight and the opportunity to make a real impact on safety culture, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, and maintain the HSE Risk Management Framework, tools and processes.
Facilitate comprehensive HSE Risk Assessments including Bowtie analysis and team-based risk evaluations.
Lead, and enhance our Major Hazard Program, ensuring critical controls are identified and continuously verified.
Develop educational material and resources to promote awareness and understanding of risk management.
Accountable for implementation of risk strategies and performance of critical controls.
Embed HSE Risk Registers for regulatory compliance.
Foster a strong safety culture through coaching, training and leadership engagement.
Monitor and analyse risk data, and effectiveness, prepare reports to Senior Management.
Coordinate safety programs, audits, and communications with operational leaders and frontline teams.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Practical experience in risk management, preferably within the mining or industrial sector.
Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, industry standards and critical control management principles.
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in risk management software and data analytics tools is an advantage.
Ability to demonstrate and execute strategic thinking
