The Role
Join Our Growing Team: Field Service Diesel Mechanic Opportunity!
We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to become a part of our Melbourne - Derrimut Field Service Team. This dynamic role operates on a flexible 8-days-on, 6-days-off roster with 12-hour shifts, providing you with a balanced lifestyle.
As a Field Service Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in rebuilding and refurbishing state-of-the-art diesel and gas power generation engines. Your expertise will also be key in performing preventative and emergency repairs, whether in a well-equipped workshop environment or out in the field across various locations.
In addition, you’ll be working on cutting-edge gas systems and associated equipment, including CNG refueling sites, helping us stay ahead in the industry. This role comes with occasional travel to job sites, which may include overnight stays, adding variety and adventure to your roster.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities
Execute engine rebuilds, overhauls, and refurbishments.
Conduct thorough inspections, identify and document repairs and replacements.
Conduct performance testing.
Input and manage detailed equipment and engine records
Actively participate in safety meetings, training programs and continuous improvement workshops.
About You
Mechanical trade qualification (Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology/Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology)
Qualified CAT Think BIG trained preferred.
Engine reconditioning and maintenance.
Competent at delivering high quality work in a workshop environment.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
C Class Driving License.
Sound technical skills in Power Generation.
A willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
