Job Description

The Role

As a Mechanic joining the Plant and Rebuild team, you will be focused on the rebuild and refurbishment of thermal power generation engines in our custom build facility in Kewdale. Your daily tasks will include inspections, performance testing and maintaining detailed records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute engine rebuilds, overhauls, and refurbishments according to company procedures and standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to assess the condition of components, identifying and documenting areas requiring repair or replacement.
  • Conduct performance testing to validate the integrity and efficiency of rebuilt engines.
  • Maintain detailed equipment and engine records in accordance with workshop procedures.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Supervisor for optimizing engine performance and longevity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Adherence to company WHS policies and procedures; including Major Hazard Management Procedures ensuring workplace compliance and reporting hazards and near misses.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • Mechanical trade qualification. (LV Mechanics encouraged to apply)
  • Engine reconditioning and maintenance experience.
  • Competency in delivering high-quality work in a workshop environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • C Class Driving License.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Can-do attitude with the ability to build and maintain cohesive relationships.
  • Embrace and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
