We are seeking a passionate HSE Advisor to join us in shaping a proactive, and people centred culture across our business. Partnering closely with operational leaders and supported by a wider team of Senior and Principal Advisors you will help design and embed the behaviours, systems, and practices that enable our teams to work safely and confidently every day.

This role works across Pacific Energy’s manufacturing, project delivery and asset operations divisions, supporting the allocated business partner to improve safety through practical guidance, shared learning and coaching. It involves working closely with teams to strengthen everyday safety practices while understanding the different risks in each area and provides exposure and experience that supports development into more senior roles over time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a proactive, people-first culture.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements in safety and wellbeing.
  • Promote safety initiatives and inspire others to engage with and prioritise safety.
  • Engage and coach leaders and their teams through meaningful interactions that develop their capacity to manage HSE considerations in their activities.
  • Champion safety by becoming a trusted and accessible partner to our workforce.
  • Provide HSE leadership and evidence-based advice on risk reduction strategies in the field and by facilitating risk assessments and risk workshops
  • Support a culture of learning through facilitating incident investigations, analysing and trending data and generating actionable insights.
  • Provide insight and oversight on HSE performance by supporting or leading audit and assurance activities.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of HSE-related training and communication material.
  • Develop and support health and safety representatives through HSR forums and regular mentoring.

Be part of the solution

  • A relevant qualification such as the Certificate IV in WHS
  • Previous experience in a HSE role (with 3 years' experience in resources, construction or similar desirable).
  • Incident investigation certification (ICAM, TapRooT, Five Why’s or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and HSE management systems (including internal auditing).
  • Familiar with risk assessment, permit to work, audit & assurance activities
  • Proficient with digital HSE systems, reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and document writing.
