Job Description

We are currently seeking 2 x Draftsperson to join our Design & Engineering department. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for electrical design and drafting to contribute to diverse power generation, renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

As a Draftsperson, you will be responsible for developing and modifying technical drawings, schematics and electrical documentation using industry-leading CAD software. Working closely with engineers and project teams, you will support projects from concept through to commissioning while ensuring all drawings are accurate, compliant and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation and other CAD software
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams (SLDs) and associated documentation
  • Convert engineering specifications and design information into high-quality technical drawings
  • Support engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design to commissioning
  • Prepare drawings in accordance with client specifications and project requirements
  • Conduct drawing reviews and ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to incorporate drawing mark-ups and design changes
  • Contribute to drafting standards, technology improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support Operations & Maintenance activities where required
  • Ensure Safety in Design principles and HSEQ requirements are consistently applied

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Formal drafting qualifications, Certificate IV in Engineering Technology (Electrical), or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a drafting or electrical design environment preferred
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Experience with Revit and Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Electrical circuitry and design
  • Loop diagrams
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Hazardous area drawings
  • Instrumentation and control systems
  • Panel design and PLC hardware
  • Strong understanding of document control processes and standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work within deadlines
