Job Description

Based at our Derrimut office, we are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Advisor to join our dynamic team. Working together with our Risk Manager, the HSE Advisor will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety within the organization, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize risks.

As the HSE Advisor you will provide advice and support to our management and supervisors and work closely with our employees in the application of health, safety and environment practices to help us ensure that our organisation is safe and compliant.
 
This is a Monday to Friday position.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.  
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable recommendations.  
  • Collaborate with management and staff to foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness across all levels of the organization.  
  • Provide training and support to employees on HSE practices, procedures, and emergency response protocols.  
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.  
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, providing insights to management for continuous improvement.  
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation, industry trends, and best practices related to health, safety, and the environment.  
  • Conduct workplace inspections and undertake regular internal safety and environmental audits of the systems and / or associated processes, procedures, and work practices.
  • Undertake or assisting in accident and incident investigations
  • Promote open discussion of safety issues.
  • Identify, track, record and report hazards, incidents, injuries, and health issues.
  • Providing advice and support for all functions to ensure compliance to ISO 9001, 45001 & 14001 applicable statutory, regulatory requirements, and standards

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Previous experience in an HSE role, with application both in office (white collar) and workshop (blue collar) environments.  
  • Minimum Certificate IV qualifications in WHS
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, standards, and best practices.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • ICAM Investigation trained (desirable)
  • Applied First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Prior experience in delivering training on compliance related topics, policies, and procedures.
